In the morning of August 23rd, at the monument of General San Martín, Liberator of America, The Ukranian Central Representation (RCU), jointly with the Embassy of Ukraine in the Argentina, commemorated the day of the National Flag and the 27th Anniversary of the Independence of Ukraine.
 
The European Director for the Argentine Chancellery, Diplomats, Authorities of the Ukrainian Embassy, Ukrainian Institutions, members of the community and San Martín Grenadiers were present.
 
The ceremony started with the wreath-laying at the statue of San Martín, by the Counselor of the Ukrainian Embassy in Argentine, Margarita Aristova; the President of the Superior Council, Jorge Iwanyk, Eng; and the Vice President of the Executive of the Central Representation Ukraine (RCU), Dr. María Cristina Zinko.
 
After this, highly emotional to listen, was the Fanfare “Alto Perú” playing the national anthems of Argentina and Ukraine.
Margarita Aristova, Counselor of the Ukrainian Embassy in Argentina and the Vice President of the Ukraine Central Representation (RCU) Dr. María Cristina Zinko referred with heartfelt words, to the two events: the Flag Day and the Independence of Ukraine; speaking about the importance of the Flag and the process of independence of Ukraine, and the desire for freedom that is in the spirit of the Ukrainians.
 
The importance of carrying out this act in this emblematic place was also commented, since on August 22nd, a bust was opened to General San Martín, in a square in Kyiv, Ukraine, increasing the brotherhood between the Ukrainian and Argentinean nations.
 
Mr. Agustín Ciulupa was the presenter.
 
To wind-up the ceremony, the Fanfare “Alto Perú” played the “Marcha de San Lorenzo”.
